August 27 – 30, 2020
Nestled in the hills, valleys, rivers and lakes of the Appalachian mountains of East Tennessee is Johnson City, the 9th largest city in Tennessee. East Tennessee is home to the nation’s most visited national park— the Great Smoky Mountains National Park— and hundreds of smaller recreational areas.
This area is often called the birthplace of country music, due largely to the 1927 Victor recording sessions in Bristol, and throughout the 20th and 21st centuries has produced a steady stream of musicians of national and international fame.
From the period of the American Indian, through the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, right up to the Great Depression and World War II, East Tennessee has been an integral part of the history, growth and development of these United States in industry, higher education and culture.
We are proud to share this place we call home with you and we hope you thoroughly enjoy your stay with us in attendance at the 2020 VMC National Meet.
